Privacy
Short version: no accounts, and what you type into a tool stays in your browser. We count visits with Google Analytics.
THE DETAILSLAST UPDATED 4 OCTOBER 2026
What you type
Every tool runs in your browser. Sample names, volumes, concentrations and plate progress are worked out on your device and are not sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives them.
What your browser keeps
Some tools save your last inputs in your browser's local storage, so a refresh or a closed tab doesn't lose your work — for example the Plate Tracker's plate and the calculators' last values. This stays on that device and that browser only.
- To remove it, use the tool's CLEAR or RESET button, or clear site data for labmate.tools in your browser settings.
- In private browsing, nothing is kept after you close the window.
Files you open
When a tool lets you open a file — like a sample list for Cryo Labels — the file is read in your browser. It is not uploaded.
No accounts
There is nothing to sign up for. We don't use advertising trackers.
Visit statistics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages and tools people open, how they found the site, and roughly where they are (country and city), so we know what to improve. It sets a few first-party cookies (named _ga) to tell a returning visitor from a new one.
- It records page addresses and clicks, never the values you type into a tool, the files you open, or a shared panel in a link.
- Google Analytics does not store your IP address. Data is kept for Google Analytics' default retention period.
- To opt out, block cookies for labmate.tools, use a content blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Every tool still works.
Services the pages load
To show the page, your browser fetches a few files from other services. Like any web request, they receive your IP address and browser details, under their own privacy policies:
- GitHub Pages hosts the site.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces.
- Google Analytics receives the visit statistics described above.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) serves the PDF and QR-code libraries used by Cryo Labels.
None of these receive what you type into the tools.
Emails
If you write to hello@labmate.tools to request a tool, we use your email only to reply and to understand the request.
Changes
If this changes — for example if we add a sponsor or a sign-up — we'll update this page first and change the date above. Visit statistics were added on 4 October 2026.
