Plate Tracker

A well plate pipetting tracker for the bench. Tap each well as you load it, run several reagents as colored rounds, and never lose your place on a 96 or 384 well plate.

TAP → TRACK → PASS

How to use

  1. Pick 96 or 384 at the top. Each format keeps its own plate.
  2. Name the round after the reagent you are adding — tap its name in the list to edit.
  3. On an iPad you can set the plate right on the screen: choose 1:1, calibrate once against the plate's edges (or a bank card), and the plate is drawn at its real size — standard SLAS/ANSI footprint and well positions.
  4. Tap a well as you pipette into it, or press the big MARK NEXT button to fill in order (by column or by row).
  5. Plate lined up on the iPad screen? Use the MOVE NEXT arrows to put the next well, row or column exactly where you are. After that, MARK NEXT carries on from there. AUTO returns to the first open spot.
  6. Using a multichannel? Switch to ROW or COLUMN: a tap, or MARK NEXT, then marks the whole line at once.
  7. Blanks or wells that don't get this reagent: switch ADD to SKIP, then tap them or use SKIP NEXT — a well, row or column at a time. In a round a well is either added or skipped: wells already added stay added. Skipped wells are left out of the count, and a new round starts with the same wells skipped.
  8. When every well is in, the round shows PASS ✓. Go to the next round — up to 8 per plate.

Good to know

  1. Free to use. No subscription.
  2. Progress is saved in this browser after every tap, so a refresh or a closed tab won't lose your plate. Private browsing, clearing site data, or switching device or browser starts a fresh plate.
  3. Built for iPad at the bench; works on a laptop and a phone too.
  4. A tracker, not a record: it does not replace your lab notebook or LIMS.
QUESTIONS · PLATE TRACKER

Frequently asked

Can I use the plate tracker with a multichannel pipette?

Yes. Switch to ROW or COLUMN and a single tap — or MARK NEXT — marks the whole row or column at once.

Will I lose my place if the page refreshes?

No. Progress is saved in your browser after every tap, so a refresh or a closed tab keeps your plate. Private browsing, clearing site data, or switching device or browser starts a fresh plate.

Can I set the plate directly on my iPad screen?

Yes. Choose 1:1 and calibrate once against the plate's edges or a bank card. The plate is then drawn at its real size, using the standard SLAS/ANSI footprint and well positions.

How do I track several reagents on the same plate?

Each reagent is a round — up to 8 per plate. Mark wells as added or skipped; when every well is in, the round shows PASS and you move to the next one.
